The Mitsubishi Model A, also known as the Mitsubishi Model 1000, was the first car ever produced by Mitsubishi in 1917. It was a four-door sedan with a 2-liter 4-cylinder engine producing 35 horsepower. The Model A was based on the Fiat Tipo 3, with Mitsubishi acquiring the manufacturing license from Fiat.
The Model A was a landmark car for Japan, as it was the first domestically produced passenger car. It was also a technological achievement for the time, with features such as a shaft drive system, four-speed transmission, and hydraulic brakes.
Although only 22 units were produced, the Mitsubishi Model A paved the way for future Japanese automotive manufacturing.
